Burton's Almshouses

London Road, were erected in 1859 by Miss Ann Burton, of Spaniel Row, for Widows, Widowers and other unmarried persons, male or female, not less than sixty years of age, of good character and decayed circumstances and of any religious persuasion. The ground and buildings are held in trust by deed of gift and the houses are available for twenty-four inmates who each recieve 14s monthly.
