Princess Alice Branch of the National
Children's Home
Birmingham
At the Princess Alice Branch, the Prizegiving and Christmas Cantata were
combined. Our local Treasurer, Mr. C. H. Brampton, presided, and the prizes
were distributed by the principles. The rev. R. S. Armsby, B. A., Mr.
Shirley Smith, the Governor and the others took part in gathering. The
Choir, under sister Freda Tye's able direction, rendered the Cantata Snow
White exceedingly well, and to the great satisfaction of the large number of
friends who assembled to hear it. Our beautiful Hall was crowded.

BIRMINGHAM CHOIR
During the closing days of January and the early weeks of February the
Princess Alice Choir held a series of musical meetings in some of the
south-western counties, including the towns of Monmouth, Dursley, Lydney,
Portishead, Minehead, Porlock, Watchet, South Molton, Tiverton, Barnstaple,
Ilfracombe, Bideford, Budleigh Salterton, Street, Ilminister, Paulton,
Cinderford and Thornbury. We had an unbroken series of kind receptions and
successful meetings, for which careful preparation had been made by friends
at each place. The result was a rekindling of interest in the work of The
Children's Home, considerable immediate fruit, and a large addition to the
number of Birthday Subscriptions. Both Ministers and lay friends met in
generous rivalry to do our work the best possible service.-T. D.
