Stafford Gaol
His Majestys Prison was erected in Gaol Road on the north side of Stafford, and
has been enlarged on a number of occasions. It was transferred to the Government
in 1878. It occupied an area of 7 acres and in 1912 could accommodate 787
prisoners.
