Chipping Sodbury Workhouse
The Board of Guardians meet every alternate Wednesday at the
Board Room, Union Workhouse, Yate at 11.30am
The Union comprises the following parishes;
Acton Turville, Alderley, Chipping Sodbury, Cold Ashton, Dirham & Hinton,
Dodington, Doynton, Frampton Cotterell, Great Badminton, Hawkesbury, Horton,
Iron Acton, Little Sodbury, Marshfield, Old Sodbury, Pucklechurch, Tormarton,
Wapley-cum-Codrington, West Littleton, Westerleigh, Wick & Abson, Wickwar
and Yate.
The area is 63,284 acres, assessable value in 1901 £80,446 and population in
1891 was 16,795 and in 1901 was 17,612.
