St Neots Poor Law Union

There was a Parish Workhouse established in 1722, where the Women and Children inmates made pillow lace to raise money for their keep.

The St Neots Poor Law Union was declared 9 September 1835 and comprised the parishes of Abbotsley, Buckden, Great Catworth, Little Catworth, Dean, Diddington, Eaton Socon, Eynesbury, Grafham, Graveley, Kimbolton, Midloe, Offord Cluny, Offord D'Arcy, Great Paxton, Little Paxton, Pertenhall, St Neots, Shelton, Southoe, Great Staughton, Stow, Swineshead, Tetworth, Tilbrook, Toseland, Waresley and Hail Weston

St Neots Union Workhouse was erected 1841-1842 in the parish of Eaton Socon.
