Market Bosworth Workhouse and Poor Law Union
The Board of Guardians meet Wednesdays fortnightly at the Union House at
1pm. The population in 1891 was 15,640, area 53,255 acres and rateable value in
1899 £99,064.
The Union comprises the following Parishes:

The Union Workhouse was erected on the Lichfield Road, Market Bosworth in
1856 to accommodate 200 inmates, the average being 56. An Infirmary was built in
1873, at a cost of about £1,800. It has a south front. A new Board Room was
added in 1898.
The site has now been converted into Residential accommodation.
