Hexham Union Workhouse

Board day, every alternate Tuesday at the Board Room, at 12.15pm. The population of the Union in 1891 was 32,809, area 205,857 acres and rateable value in 1893 257,355.

The Union Workhouse, at Peth Head, erected in 1839, is a substantial building of stone, and has room for 264 inmates.
