Guisborough Union Workhouse

Guisborough Poor Law Union was declared 30th January 1837 and the Workhouse erected 1838 to 1839 from designs by John and William Atkinson, architects.

The Workhouse in Northgate, is a plain, but substantial building of stone, available for about 200 inmates, infirmary added in 1894, at a cost of £3,350.
