Statistics

Summary of Results.
Workhouses.
Pauper inmates of Workhouse establishments in the Registration County number 217 persons of all ages, 147 Males and 70 Females. 
These represent approximately 0.4% of the general population.
At advanced ages the proportion is far higher; at 55 years and upwards the % is 1.41% and at 65 years and upwards is 2.04%.

Prisons
Prisoners in the Prison at Brecknock number 13. 12 Males 1 Female.

The Blind, Deaf and Dumb
The number of persons returned as Blind is 47, and of these 1 is Deaf also.

Deaf and Dumb persons including 4 returned simply as Dumb, number 15, and of these 4 suffer from some other Infirmity also.

Lunatics
The Imbecile and Feeble-minded number 56, including 3 otherwise afflicted. 
The total of these classes is 783.
16 of these were inmates of Workhouses, while the remaining 40 were residing with relatives or in unlicensed houses.
